Walk into a Finnish or Russian sauna and nearly everyone is wearing a felt hat. To a newcomer it looks like a joke. It isn't.
Your head sits at the hottest point in the room, where heat stacks up near the ceiling. Wool felt insulates your scalp and hair from that direct heat while staying breathable, so you can sit through the loyly longer and step out clear-headed instead of scorched. It is the oldest piece of sauna equipment there is, and still the most useful.
What we stock
We are a small online shop built around one product we care about, plus the few things that belong beside it. Traditional wool felt hats in the pointed Finnish silhouette. 100% merino, no synthetic blends. A short list of sauna goods worth owning.
The catalog is deliberately short. If something does not earn its place on a sauna bench, it does not go on the site.
Why wool felt
Wool holds its structure at high heat, breathes instead of trapping steam, and resists odor naturally between washes. Synthetic caps do none of this well. They hold moisture, they hold smell, and some of them have no business near a hot stove at all. Felt has been the answer for a few hundred years for good reason.
